Things to Do while in Chiang Mai
(In the high season is best to prebook many activities.
We can help with recomendations..)

Thai Cooking Class
The trendy thing to do in Chiang Mai was to take Thai cooking classes and the was a horde of poor cookery classes being offer now a few of the better ones still remain and offer a excellent days entertainment as well as really learning to cook Thai food. Most have choice of course length and some offer vegetarian cooking as well.

Meditation Courses
Your mind needs centering and just learn to meditate

Massage Classes
A week long course will provide life time of pleasure to your spouse, not to mention yourself.

Trekking
Chiang Mai is the center for trekking with every level of skill and duration of time being catered to. From real week long eco adventure treks to one day treks with elephant ride and bamboo rafting, the choice is yours but make sure you choose a reliable operator.

Traditional Thai Religous Tattoos
A few brave souls have even got traditional Thai Buddhist tattoos done with the ancient technic of using bamboo tattoo needles. Thay claim hurt way less than the machine so eat your heart out Miami Ink.. see here What we arrange for our couples and there guests.

Elephant Husbandry Course
Yes take a weeks course on basic elephant husbandry just to round out your job skills back home? We hear the best is Lampang Elephant camp with newer camps offering it too.

Spa Treatments
The trendy thing to do in Chiang Mai is to now treat your body to a day of pleasure. At a new luxurious spa which has little to do with its Thai Massage but is a wonderful day of pampering.

Thai Massage
Is available every where in Chiang Mai but the skill level and style greatly varying from medical treatment to seduction and everything in between. Don't let that put you off but be prepared to be a little sore afterwards if it is your first time.

Temple Touring
For those that like architecture or just to go and visit a day Temples are the center of the community and to wander and explore at your own pace is a good experience. Who knows you may find a funeral or party to join in on and try home cooked Thai food.

Caves
Chiang Dao Cave - temple and the local elephant camp make for a good day trip in the country. Check out the local herb sellers there for whatever ails you.

Hot Springs
Hot springs in Sangkapang are a wonderful way to spend the day with family and friend new or old as local attraction it offers lots to experience and enjoy from people watching to a relaxing massage on he lawn what better way to spend a day.

Go Carting
For the wild one in you we have go carts what a childish thing to do while maybe just so back home but here it is a little less tame and crashing is just part of the edge experience so take some brave friends, repair money, and medical insurance and race. Please: brides and grooms only after the wedding!

Ultra Light flights
Safe and thrilling experience flight the basic way in a ultra lite craft for those of you more brave than I.

Charter Flights
Small plane rental with Pilots are available from the Chiang Mai flying club and school.

Shopping
Chiang Mai is Thailand's Handicraft center, if it is available in Thailand we have it here somewhere. The large tourist factory tours of the Sangapang are slowly dying off and exporting of small producers home industries are possible by just getting in the car and heading out.

Wood Carving & Decor items at Baan Tawai The new OTOP lets re invent tourist factory tours but there are many small producer in and around that still make and sell as well as larger producers that have highest quality items at fair prices. so be sure to visit.

Jewelry
Thailand has the largest Jewelry shop in the world but that is not where most Thai people shop for sure. We go to local goldsmiths and have custom made and even custom designed jewelry made to order, it is often better and cheaper! Why? Who is paying for all those vans and Benz cars the tour company are taking their clients to these shops in? You the buyers are, as many if not most are owned by the jewelry shop and they lend them to the tour companies as just part of the commissions paid for heads throw the door. Guess it works they are the biggest but are they the best deal or jewelry. Most Thai people think not. Let me take you to a local goldsmith and you can decide after seeing the goods in both stores.

Buddha Images Don't Buy as they are illegal to export in spite the "Antique" Buddha head were made last year.

Antiques All ours are gone now, but we are making fakes, forgeries and reproductions that can fool the experts so if they tell you it is antique, smile and decide if for art sake it is worth the price.

Clothes Custom made
Everywhere, bring a photo and have your dream dress cut to fit. or order suits custom fitted. Check the custom orders they have waiting to be picked up, not the window models to really see they quality you shout expect.

This is just the start of a list , we have orchid farms, hill tribes to visit, rice to plant, food to eat...

We can recommend or even book (at a discount for sure) many of these activates for you and your guests while your here getting married. or see some at Http://Northernthailand.com
